Devorah is a talented pianist, composer, athlete, lawyer and single mother of three. In 2023, after working for seventeen years as a lawyer, she stepped down from her position due to her declining medical condition. She received five surgeries from 2022-2024 which enabled her to begin building a new life to focus on her childhood love of the piano and composing.

Devorah began playing the piano at a young age and took private lessons for several years but was unable to continue. She obtained a B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara, graduating with Highest Honors, and a law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law. Although she never attended a music school, Devorah is gifted with the ability to play by ear and compose music through spontaneous improvisations. She is a completely self-taught composer and utilizes what she calls a “stream of consciousness approach” whereby she seeks to be a vessel for divinely inspired musical ideas to flow through her soul. She founded Soul Improvisations with the mission of composing solo piano music to help uplift the spirits of others and foster recovery from trauma. Her music is truly from her soul to yours.

Because the music of Soul Improvisations stems from Devorah’s spontaneous “stream of consciousness approach” and is rooted in her soul, her compositions are quite varied. Listeners remark that her music is New Age solo piano with a classical flair and touches of other styles woven in. She operates as raw talent and simply pours out her heart on her instrument to touch the lives of others. Devorah is currently working on her second album of solo piano music with additional singles to be released in 2026.

The initial ideas for Devorah’s first release in September 2024 of Warrior Heart, Conquering Life’s Challenges came to her in March 2023 when she hesitatingly sat at the piano during a period of tremendous personal tragedy and struggle. What called her to the piano was the realization that no matter what happened in the past or was currently happening, no one could take away her special soul. At that moment, despite her age and circumstances, she committed herself to finally pursuing her dream of developing her musical talent. While the trauma Devorah experienced over the course of her life created a broken heart within her, she continues to remain strong and walk through life’s challenges with remarkable resilience and faith – like a warrior. Devorah dedicates her new life to her soul’s passion of spreading hope and inspiration through her music.
