Devorah’s intention in composing Journeys is to take the listener on a series of varied musical journeys, reflective of the myriad journeys we all experience throughout the course of our lives. Although the personal journeys of Devorah’s initial 46-year life were heartbreaking, they led her to her true path and mission as a pianist and composer and gave her the courage to share her loving soul with the world through her music.

“I remember with great fondness this track, in fact if memory serves me right, I actually featured it on my long form music show In the Stream, and what a beautiful addition it was. I am of course referring to the glorious gift that is Journeys by Soul Improvisations, a delicate, yet fluent piano manifestation that has a wonderful timelessness about its construction.
The piece itself rises and falls like a summer tide and the piano is used as a diary of tone and timbre, or as a painter whose brush strokes are both illuminating and textured, all of that and more can be found on this amazing offering by the artist.
It is so good to see long form music making a name now, allowing for those of us who just wish that immersive journey to continue onward until we are satiated. The themes explored within this piece are built upon a dramatic and somewhat romantic melody, one alone that could be turned into a hit song, but the mastery of this quite breathtaking opus is the piano performance, which has layers of sensitivity entwined with passion, all of which are layered perfectly into this inspiring colourful narrative.
